Lemnos Fun Pun Clock

Description:
The name ‘fun pun’ comes from the Japanese name for ‘minute’, where the minutes are called out with either a -fun or -pun at the end. Designed by Yoko Dobashi, in collaboration with the Japan Montessori Research Institute, this clock makes learning how to read time easier for children. The hour numbers are placed closer to the shorter hour hand, and the minute numbers are placed further on the outer edge where the longer minute hand points, making the clock much more intuitive to read. The clock features a red second hand with a step movement that makes one ticking sound per second.

Since 1947, Lemnos has been dedicated to crafting clocks. This Japanese brand draws its inspiration from the Greek island of the same name, a place steeped in mythology as the abode of Hephaestus, the patron deity of artisans.
