A traditional, all-purpose knife used for woodworking and bamboo crafting, the handle and scabbard are made of Hoh (magnolia). The blade is beveled on one side, creating a thinner edge than a knife beveled on both sides, which allows extremely fine cuts. Also, only the beveled side requires the main sharpening, so less time is required for maintenance.

Variation:
Variation in the natural wood grain. Knives that are not hammered but manually forged employ metals such as pre-bonded steel. They are shaped by pressing devices holding the Kiridashi knife molds. This results in slight size and weight variations.
History:
Baishinshi is a brand produced by a blacksmithing family that has been forging carving knives and chisels for more than 250 years. The 7th generation currently works under the “Baishinshi Kunimitsu” name.

Please keep blade in wooden sleeve when not in use. Keep the blade dry and free of moisture or it may rust.
